APOLLO BAY- HERE & THERE

If you have had the pleasure of visiting the Bay over the past couple of weeks you would have noticed it is a hive of activity with a number of exciting projects and developments under way around town.

The construction of a further groin and walking path along the Great Ocean Road is well under way, along with the construction of the new Preschool Centre at the Apollo Bay P-12 College (as part of the Kinder On School Sites initiative) which is looking fabulous, with the buildings now in place and extensive landscaping already taking shape. Preparations for the rebuild of the Apollo Bay Hardware site have been announced with plans to begin the rebuild in January, after the building was heavily destroyed by fire earlier this year.

Concept plans have also recently been released for the redevelopment of the Apollo Bay Harbour. Council, in partnership with the community and State Government, are undertaking planning for the redevelopment and revitalisation of the Apollo Bay Harbour.

Colac Otway Shire Council approved the Apollo Bay Harbour Development Plan on 16 December 2020.  The Development Plan was the result of years of community engagement and input and paves the way for the $12-million City Deal funded project to proceed and transform the town’s iconic working harbour precinct.
