The coastal property market continues to rise as buyer activity for Surf Coast real estate listings ceases to abate even in these cooler months. It’s amazing to think that this time last year we were beginning our second lock down and although we had seen an unseasonal rise in sales volumes during May and June there was still an air of trepidation in the market. Fast forward a year and we have experienced unprecedented levels of growth in values and our seasonal marketplace has been all but thrown out the window. Lockdown 5.0 will only continue to fuel the desire of urban dwellers to live the coastal lifestyle and with the slower than expected roll out of the covid vaccine program, this desire is not likely to subside anytime soon as we continue to endure lockdowns. I know where I would rather be locked down if I had the choice.

We have contracted one sale in the last week of 5/3 Walker Street Anglesea for $739,000 after multiple interest between 4 interested parties. 5/3 Walker Street is a 1980’s brick veneer 2 bedroom home that had a cosmetic reno a year ago and which I had appraised in January for our then landlords in the low $600’s. The sale price achieved 5 months later is very reflective of the growth in the market.
