APOLLO BAY- HERE & THERE

This weekend we look forward to welcoming all participants, supporters, volunteers & organisers of the Great Ocean Road Running Festival, offering eight different events alongside our stunning scenic coastal views and eucalyptus rainforests, with up to 6250 runners expected to trek the Great Ocean Road across the two day weekend festival.

Events on Saturday May 15 include the Great Ocean Road Real Estate 1.5-kilometre kids gallop, the 14-kilometre Paradise Run and Wheelchair Race, and the Sri Lankan Airlines 6 kilometre.

On Sunday May 16, runners can take part in the 60-kilometre Science in Sport Ultramarathon, the 44-kilometre Kieser Marathon, and the Suunto Trail with 6.5-kilometre or 13-kilometre options. There’s also the Science in Sport 23-kilometre half marathon and the Lorne Hotel Great Ocean Road Walk (at five kilometres or 10 kilometres).

GOOD LUCK TO ALL PARTICIPANTS!

APOLLO BAY- MARKET ROUND UP

The strength of the current market shows no signs of slowing, fuelled by a combination of unprecedented buyer demand, low stock levels and record low borrowing costs which will continue after the Reserve Bank of Australia announced it will keep official interest rates on hold after its monthly meeting at the beginning of May.

RBA governor Philip Lowe repeated that the RBA board will not increase the cash rate until actual inflation is sustainable within its 2-3% target range and it did not expect the required economic conditions to be met until 2024 at the earliest. “Low rates, and the expectation they will remain low for several years, have been a key driver of the increases in housing prices over the past year,” he said.

While demand continues to outstrip supply, vendors feel more confident and more owners look to take advantage of the strong selling conditions and higher prices. A realestate.com.au survey conducted in April put seller confidence at its highest level since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. Nationally, 48% of respondents believe now is a good time to sell property, a 10% increase compared to December 2020.
