APOLLO BAY- HERE & THERE
In fantastic news for the region this week, Great Ocean Road Coast & Parks Authority have announced that the legacy of the Cape Otway Lighthouse will continue to operate as a significant natural, cultural and visitor destination under new lease arrangements, to be managed by the Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority. Currently on land managed by Parks Victoria as part of the Great Otway National Park, the Lightstation is Australia’s oldest working lighthouse and has a long history as a popular destination on the Great Ocean Road.
The current operator’s lease with Parks Victoria ends on 30 June 2022. The Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority (the Authority) and Parks Victoria are now entering formal negotiations for the Authority to take up a new lease and run the precinct from 1 July, ahead of a future land transfer. Both organisations pay tribute to the hard work of current leaseholders Tourism Great Ocean Road, who have held the lease since the 1990s and have made a significant contribution to making the Lightstation what it is today. The new lease arrangement will secure local jobs and ensure the future of the Lightstation as a major tourist attraction for the region. The Authority was established on 1 December 2020 to deliver better protection and management of the iconic coast and parks of Victoria’s Great Ocean Road. In partnership with Traditional Owners and together with communities, the Authority’s role is to manage, protect, rehabilitate and foster resilience of the natural, cultural and heritage values of coastal Crown land and marine waters along the Great Ocean Road.

APOLLO BAY- MARKET ROUND UP
It has been a dynamite summer for the property market with buyer enthusiasm and property sales transactions at unprecedented levels, with property values having escalated by up to 30% as buyers scrambled to have their name on the title deeds of a property in the Apollo Bay region. Trends included a shift to finding homes to move into rather than speculative investments. A high proportion of properties were bought by Melbourne based buyers planning for their move or future holidays.
Once again, Great Ocean Road Real Estate’s sale results have demonstrated how passionate our agents are about achieving outstanding sales for their clients, one with a long standing reputation of delivering exceptional results and one that sells with great enthusiasm and skill, the great results speak for themselves. Property owners expect and deserve great results so my team and I leave no stone unturned in the pursuit of success.
We understand the Apollo Bay market, know virtually every property and have the right connections for finding buyers. Invaluable experience spanning decades for so many of our team is just a part of what gives our clients the edge when selling.
We hope the many differences you discover when selling through our company will not only contribute to a great sale, but inspire and transfer a feeling of inspiration to others.
