LORNE – HERE AND THERE

Happy Easter, and what a beginning we’ve had to the upcoming blockbuster weekend. Cloudless skies, no wind and temperatures in the low twenties have been the feature of the week and the next two days are going to be even better before a temperature change is scheduled for Sunday. Today’s local activities include the official opening of the brand new Lorne Football and Netball Club, netball clubrooms at 4pm this afternoon, then at 5pm the much anticipated Lorne Bowls tournament as the Lorne Aquatic and Angling Club look to throw down the challenge to our local bowlers. Following the “Anglers” conquering the golfers they are chasing the “grand slam” of local bragging rights and I must say they have been extremely confident in the lead up.
On Saturday the locals play their first official game of netball and football in over 12 months as the Colac and District Football League resumes after the forced years break and there’s sure to be a massive vocal crowd in attendance. A fishing competition and live music at multiple venues on Sunday all contribute to what’s going to be an absolute cracker of a long weekend in Lorne!

LORNE – MARKET ROUND UP

There’s been only one thing warmer than the weather on the coast and that’s been the local real estate market, continuing with unprecedente strength and the expected “lull” before Easter was simply a myth. With multiple sales across the past seven days, all sectors of the market have continued to attract multiple interest. From the sale of the 4 bedroom Charlie Mina designed and George Dragovitch built top end residence at 19 Hopetoun Terrace to the sale at full price of the three bedroom apartment that was sold off market in Mirvac’s Chalet development, demand has been constant across all opportunities. The residence known as ‘Kilolo’ on Big Hill having been on the market for in excess of three years attracted multiple buyer interest and was also put to a conditional contract well in excess of the asking price.

With the continued pressures on stock levels, selling strategies continue to be the biggest key in unlocking premium results in a seller’s market. In each of the above cases a different strategy was employed to maximise the outcome, and all were successfully achieved. Talk to any of our team for further details.

LORNE – A LITTLE SECRET

If you’re coming to Lorne this weekend and you are keen on dining out, make sure you book as the numbers in town this weekend are looking like being “off the charts”. If you can’t get a dinner reservation try lunch as many are coming from out of town to enjoy our array of the coast’s finest cuisine.
