A community crowdfunding campaign has been launched to bring the New Year’s Eve fireworks back to Lorne to help ring in 2025. The Committee for Lorne announced last week, via its column in the Surf Coast Times, the hopeful return of the fireworks after a successful event last year. The Surf Coast Shire chose not to renew the Lorne fireworks in 2022 after a two-year pandemic related absence. CfL and the Lorne Business and Tourism Association are hopeful of securing at least $20,000 of support from the local community and key stakeholders to put on two firework displays. The first show would be at 9:30 pm to maximise viewing for children and families, and the second, a “headline” midnight show to welcome in 2025.

Great Ocean Road Real Estate, Mantra Lorne and the Lorne Aquatic and Angling Club have already pledged significant financial support to the event. To support the Lorne New Year’s Eve fireworks event, click here.
