The sky over Lorne has been an interesting place this week with some impressive aircraft taking a detour from the Avalon Airshow to view our beautiful coastline. The Chinook helicopter was an impressive spectacle on Sunday afternoon! Unfortunately I wasn’t quick enough to get a snap of the two supersonic jets that blasted along the coast, but boy did we hear them!

From one aircraft to another, I’ve watched with great interest given the proximity to my property the multiple helicopters dropping flame into the designated controlled burn that is currently underway from Green Break track to the Lorne boundary, these burn offs are integral to reduce the risk of bushfire by lowering fuel loads and making fires less intense.
