27th March 2026

After 65 years of memories and great times, the Lorne Aquatic Club has officially come down. The original building was fully demolished last week, with the site now cleared — a pretty significant moment for many who’ve spent summers and long weekends there over the years.

As for the Fisherman’s Co-operative building, there’s no confirmed date for its demolition just yet, but it’s expected to follow. We’ll keep you posted as things progress.

It’s that time of term again — hard to believe we’re just a week out from school holidays and Easter on the doorstep.
Down here in Lorne, the market certainly isn’t easing into the break. Buyer activity has stayed solid, with four contracts inked over the past week and a total of 9 sales so far in Lorne for March. There’s also a small wave of well-priced properties preparing to hit the market, which should keep things interesting as we head into the holiday period.
Traditionally this time of year can bring a bit of a pause, but right now the energy feels anything but seasonal. With fresh listings on the way and buyers still engaged, the lead-in to Easter is hopefully shaping up to be a busy one along the coast.
