There’s something about a sunny winter’s morning after a week of rain that reminds you why so many people love calling Lorne home. I snuck out for a coffee in the sunshine this morning and it certainly made me appreciate just how fortunate we are to live and work in this part of the world.
The town has been putting on a show lately. Louttit Bay has been full of activity, with whales and dolphins making regular appearances offshore, and there was even a shark sighting further along the coast in one of our neighbouring towns. Nature always seems to keep us entertained.
It’s also been great to see the Point Grey redevelopment continuing to make visible progress. With both slabs complete and the building frames now taking shape, you can really start to picture how this important precinct will come together.
The property market has its own winter rhythm. There are some well-priced homes currently available across Lorne, and with a number of motivated vendors in the market, buyers have a genuine opportunity to inspect a range of properties. Winter has traditionally been a quieter season, but that often creates some of the best buying opportunities.
If you’re thinking about a weekend away, winter is one of my favourite times to visit. The beaches are peaceful, the walking tracks are at their best, the cafes are buzzing, and there’s no shortage of accommodation specials.
