25th January 2013
Lorne – Market Round up’. According to a report released by Roy Morgan Research on the 10th of January Melbourne is an increasingly preferred holiday destination over the Gold Coast – amazing! 4.1 million Australians (22%) want to take a holiday in Melbourne within the next two years compared to 3.3 million (18%) who choose the surf, sun and sandy sequins of the Gold Coast.
Behind Melbourne,The Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Sydney our iconic Great Ocean Road rounds out the top 5 with 2 million (11%) wanting to visit. According to Jane Ianniello, International Director of Tourism,Travel and Leisure, Roy Morgan Research, beach destinations such as the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast have suffered in popularity over the past decade due to increased competition from short haul aircraft beach destinations such as Bali, Fiji and Thailand.
‘Lorne – Weekly report’. As January quickly moves to a close it is good to report that real estate activity has shown improvement from the same period a year earlier. With a number of buyers “circling” various properties and with this weekend’s “Super Saturday” of auction property offerings, 2013 is showing good early signs.
Having contracted three separate deals in Lorne over the past seven days those vendors that have priced their property to the market are getting results.
The weekend activity will be a great indicator in moving forward so stay tuned!
