‘Lorne – Market Round up’. One of the best financial indicators as to how our market is shaping business writing services for the upcoming summer selling months, is the trending of the Melbourne Residential property market. Historically our coastal market tends to run at a time lag of about six months depending on where we are in our seasonal cycle. You can imagine I was buoyed to read that the current year to date clearance rate in the Melbourne Auction market is running at 71 per cent compared to 60 per cent for the same time last year. Conditions for both buyers and sellers are much more positive in the lead up to this year’s spring selling season, which all goes well for our following summer period – fingers crossed!
‘Lorne – Weekly report’. Hard to believe but this weekend signals the end of winter and spring is on its way. Two months into the financial year and for the first timer over the past few years we are “on track” with our sales targets, albeit just! The past week has seen a couple of good results to cap off the month with an apartment in Mirvac’s Chalet development selling for over a million dollars, a vacant allotment in Dorman Street in the low $600’s and an older style holiday house in the same street at just under $800,000 – All in all a great finish to the month. While on great finishes the Lorne Football Club “cleaned up” on Wednesday night at the Colac and District Football and Netball Club annual vote count night. Local guns Lewis Hollmer won the league best and fairest, Harley Davies runner-up in the reserve grade best and fairest, Luke Norton seniors leading goal kicker and Geoffrey Balderas being awarded life membership of the C.D.F.N.L. for his 300+ games and outstanding contribution to local football. Good luck tomorrow to our under 14.5 boys as they take on the Colac Imperials for a place in the 2014 Grand Final.
