3rd November 2023
For many, this weekend will be a long weekend as Monday is unofficially seen as a holiday for some, therefore making the most of the public holiday on Tuesday for Melbourne Cup Day. The race that stops a nation will start at 3pm on Tuesday and is run over 3200 metres and will feature 24 horses. Picking a favourite isn’t easy as since 1999 just three favourites have prevailed, two of whom were Makybe Diva. Some go for numbers, some for colours and some for names. Whatever your choice, many will have a flutter on this one day or participate in the office sweep. Good luck to all of you having a punt.
It is here!!!! Tomorrow, The Aireys Fair will run from 9am – 4pm at the Aireys Inlet Primary School and features carnival rides, fresh food, face painting, show bags, live music and more. There will be some hotly contested items at the Silent Auction, including signed footy boots from Geelong Cats player and Moggs Creek local Patrick Dangerfield, multiple high-end holiday accommodation experiences donated by Great Ocean Road Holidays, as well as an 8-seat corporate box experience at a Melbourne United home game (including pre, during and post-game food and drink!).
This event, coupled with the Aireys Inlet Market, will keep the entire family entertained all day.
