7th November 2025

As always, the week after a long weekend tends to quieten down, and the gloomy weather hasn’t helped much either. We were lucky enough to squeeze in a glorious beach day on Sunday before heading straight back into the rain and grey skies.
One real highlight this week was the supermoon on Wednesday night. It was absolutely spectacular to see rising over the coast. I snapped a photo, but as always, it just doesn’t do it justice.

A friendly reminder that the Fire Danger Period for our region begins 1:00am, Monday 24 November 2025. This applies to the Surf Coast Shire, City of Greater Geelong, Borough of Queenscliffe, and Golden Plains Shire. During this time, restrictions come into place around burning off and using fire outdoors to help reduce the risk of bushfires.
It’s a good time to get your property prepared, review your fire plan, and stay alert as the season warms up. You’ll find full details and safety tips at cfa.vic.gov.au.
And while you’re out tidying up, keep an eye out, there have been plenty of snake sightings around the area this week!
