I was driving along the Great Ocean Road the other night and noticed some action at the new CFA site, so I did a little investigating. It turns out there is currently a temporary gas-powered live fire training pod installed on the vacant CFA owned land at 71 Great Ocean Road.
It is great to see the CFA using the new site and providing our local firefighters with realistic, hands-on training in a safe and controlled environment. The training is an important part of making sure our crews have the skills, experience and confidence needed to respond safely and effectively when our community needs them.
Training will generally take place between 7.00pm and 9.00pm on weeknights, with occasional daytime sessions on weekends, and will continue over the next 4-6 weeks.
It is great to see the site being put to good use and our local CFA volunteers getting the training they need to keep our community safe.
