APOLLO BAY- HERE & THERE

While a further ease in restrictions has unfortunately not allowed our metro visitors to enjoy the coast this long weekend, we continue to welcome regional Victorians and look forward to hosting our Melbourne guests as soon as restrictions allow. While not at its warmest it is still a fantastic time to visit the Coast without the crowds, with plenty of local dining options, spectacular beaches & Otway adventures to be had!

With over 650 properties along the Coast we would love to help you find the perfect local getaway, head to Great Ocean Road Holidays to find your perfect stay in our backyard.

The Victorian Government has recently announced that as a part of a $32.2 million Regional Tourism Support Package Victorians will have access to 80,000 travel vouchers valued at $200 each to travel across the state’s picturesque regions, when it is safe to do so. The latest allocation builds on the success of the Regional Travel Voucher Scheme that saw eager-to-travel Victorians snap up 160,000 vouchers in just minutes. Information on how Victorians can apply for and use the vouchers will be available soon.

APOLLO BAY- MARKET ROUND UP

Whilst the beginning of winter usually marks a slowdown in the property market, heavy enquiry levels and again low stock in the marketplace indicate we are anticipating an unseasonably active winter market for 2021. With an average 5% increase in house prices in comparison with the June 2020 median, we have also see a heavy demand for land with the final allotments in the Milford Beach Stage 5 & 6 subdivisions being contracted in the last week, with the demand for land continuing to rise as a result of low housing stock entering the market.

The peak activity in the market is also seeing the rental prices in and around Apollo Bay increasing, pushing the house rental prices 21% higher than this time last year, again low stock and strong competition from outside of the local area have been the catalyst for this change.

According to data released by realestate.com.au, for the first time in May, there were more than twice as many searches on realestate.com.au for properties priced above $1 million than there were under $500,000, according to the report.

Nationally, 38.1% of filtered price searches were for properties listed in excess of $1 million compared to just 16.0% for properties listed for less than $500,000.
