The Apollo Bay Fisherman’s Co-Op has closed its Harbour site doors for the first time in nearly 80 years as construction preparations are made as a part of the Harbour Precinct redevelopment.

The $12.61 million redevelopment of the Apollo Bay Harbour will provide an improved visitor experience and broaden the commercial and recreational opportunities in the precinct.

Upgrades and minor extension to the Apollo Bay Fisherman’s Cooperative building will be made to accommodate an improved commercial offering and visitor experience with an improved outdoor terrace, providing additional space and seating.

The Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority have advised construction of the precinct is planned to begin in December.

The Co-op crew are busy preparing their Pascoe St premises and a new shopfront on the Great Ocean Road so they can continue to serve both fresh fish and hot food from their ‘homes away from home’ while works are completed.

A combination of vendors’ willingness to meet the market and increased buyer activity has attributed to a relatively strong first quarter of sales in Apollo Bay for the 25/26 financial year. There have been 24 transactions to date within the 3233 postcode for this financial year, with 10 of these transactions being in excess of $1 million.

As we move through spring, the market is showing signs of improvement across the board with recent interest rate decreases, and a rise in purchaser sentiment being observed across our four offices.

We are also seeing an increase in inspection requests, particularly at the lower end of the price range, highlighting the growing pool of active buyers in the market.
