LORNE – HERE AND THERE
Less than six weeks until Christmas and the coastal crowds are building week in week out and I love hearing the ongoing stories of our visitors sharing their love for the beauties of our region. Occasionally we will be asked “do you ever take it for granted?” Never! Is the very simple undisputed answer. In fact, I feel so incredibly lucky to be able to live and work in not only such a beautiful part of the world, but as part of such a special community. Whether it be waking every morning to be greeted by the ocean, the ease at which we can all get around town or the friendly greetings that are always on offer, there is nowhere better. A couple of weeks ago I shared a very special location that I visited for the very first time, only one of so many hidden natural beauties on our door step.
The Allen Dam which provides 100% of Lorne’s natural water supply is the heart of such a healthy catchment area that for most part remains full year-round. It is also both above and below the dam you will find some of Lorne’s finest attractions. Phantom Falls, The Cascades and mirror pool below are all easy to navigate “must see” attractions. While above Margaret and Melba Falls provide another level of amazement for the more adventurous. My recent adventure unfolded as a result of a kind offer from local legend Ed Babbington and what unfolded was so remarkable in so many ways!
LORNE – MARKET ROUND UP
With less than six weeks to Christmas fair to say that, unlike the weather, the coastal real estate market has been warming up and the early signs for a strong summer period are good. Through the week we contracted two deals, one for a three bedroom townhouse in William Street and the second a two bedroom apartment in the Cumberland Resort. Stock continues to be a dilemma and if the natural forces of supply and demand are an indication then property values will continue to be healthy. Discussion in our office revealed an amazing stat that was foreign ground to us. For the first time ever, we don’t have a house on the market in Lorne under one million dollars, not to say there won’t be again, but driving home that the “shelves are not well stocked”.
All in all, if you were contemplating selling, it would be a great time to be discussing strategy and planning to capitalise on the current market conditions. To discuss further, we would welcome your call.
Kind regards,
Ian Stewart For and on behalf of the entire Great Ocean Road Real Estate team.

LORNE – QUOTE OF THE WEEK
“The strongest people are not those who show strength in front of us but those who win battles we know nothing about”.
