Lorne – Market Round Up
According to the latest market report released by R. P. Data home prices across Australia rose by 1.4% according to the Capital Cities home price index. It was the seventh consecutive month that this index has shown an increase albeit that the rate of growth has been less through December and the previous five months.
The residential housing market of almost all our capital cities have performed exceptionally well but the leisure markets within two hours of our capital cities are yet to experience the same level of upward price movement. The positive has been that there has been an upturn in volumes of transaction’s from the corresponding financial year to date period last year. These increased volumes have been a direct result of vendors being accepting of the realignment that has occurred in the Lorne market.
In my opinion we will need to see these volumes continue further before our leisure markets follow the trend of our capital cities.

Lorne – Weekly Report
Since this time a week ago there has been a noted increase in genuine buyer enquiry around the coast. As in past years the Boxing Day to first New Year weekend has everybody in full festive mode but this is behind us and buyer enquiry has notably increased. With contracts written on houses in Francis Street, Clovelly Court and Grove Road and two Cumberland Apartments now under contract the summer selling season is at last under way.
This weekend will be huge in Lorne with just over 2,000 runners competing in this morning’s Mountain to Surf run and 5,000 swimmers in tomorrow’s historic Pier to Pub swim.
There is a great list of stock on offer and with the current conditions prevailing our collective opinion is that there is no better time to buy then now.

Lorne – You must have a look at this
We released the property at 250 Mountjoy Parade approximately two months ago and have now been instructed that at $1.6 million the property could be sold. Anyone searching for what has historically been viewed as the most exclusive strip on Victorians West Coast, must have a look at this one.
