General – Market Round up’.

Over the past months I have been busy analyzing the Lorne property market statistically as I do each year at this time and there is one thing glaringly obvious to me – “Lorne has never represented better value than it does today”.  Over the past decade we may have suffered from a “stigma” of opinion and attitude to things like the Erskine House redevelopment , the Mountjoy Parade streetscape, fees for parking and BBQ’s and an all-round apathetic attitude by many of us that live here.

Through my “biased eyes” that’s all gradually changing and there is a growing commitment in this town to make it a better place for the next generation that it was for the last.  There is still however a number of us that need to do more for this momentum to gather and continue.

Compared to the values of our neighboring coastal towns ours have been dormant and in many instances negative – this should not be as Lorne is the most beautiful well-proportioned and all-encompassing seaside resort in Victoria if not Australia!

‘Lorne – Market Round up’.

As we approach the end of school holidays and the AFL football season is officially over the shoulder season in Lorne is off to a flyer.  To see the return of numbers on our beaches and in the water is a great sight and a strong sign for the summer that awaits.  With the opening of two new restaurants, a top end jeweler and the refurbishment of many of our retail outlets the town is oozing with a new energy and vibe that for some years appeared lost.

With the Melbourne residential property market continuing with strength, and on the back of recent reports that the upper end of Portsea/Sorrento markets are after a long lull beginning to see turnover, the indicators for a local market upturn remain positive. – FINGERS CROSSED!
