So the Tigers are premiers again after also taking the silverware in 2017. With a relatively young list it may not be the last premiership for this group and many are talking of a ‘Tigers dynasty’. Unfortunately the game was a flop as a spectacle with little resistance being provided by GWS who looked totally overawed by the occasion.
In better news (for those who don’t barrack for Richmond and also have a mortgage) the RBA took the cash rate to a fresh record low of 0.75 per cent on Tuesday as rising unemployment, stubbornly low wages growth and a US-China trade war rattles consumer confidence. This is not good news for everyone though, as I was reminded by a self-funded retiree I spoke to this morning as I got my morning coffee from the bakery.
The federal treasurer urged the big four banks to pass on the rate cut in full however this looks most unlikely.
The second week of the school holidays has brought a lovely stretch of weather with yesterday topping 29 degrees! It was great to see those lucky enough to have the time off, enjoying the beach day yesterday.
