18th September 2015
The school holidays begin this weekend just as the AFL finals are drawing to a close.
The Surf Coast Century starts this Saturday and will feature solo runners and teams of runners in the 100km event.
There are plenty of spectator opportunities along the course, including check points at Point Danger in Torquay, Distillery Creek picnic ground, Moggs Creek picnic ground and Anglesea Riverbank Park.
For more information head to surfcoastcentury.com.au or salomontrailseries.com.au
Look out for lots of fit and healthy runners along many of the bush tracks in the area.
Work has also started to connect Aireys Inlet and Fairhaven to Anglesea’s water supply. The $6.6 million project will construct an 11 km pipeline from Harvey Street, Anglesea through the Great Otway National Park along Distillery Creek Road and Bimbadeen Drive and into the existing Aireys Inlet water treatment plant.
