Our Backyard – Anglesea

Although we have had an increase in numbers of people around Anglesea over the Melbourne Cup long weekend it’s certainly been much quieter around town than previous years. For those who were here, the weather was fantastic providing an awesome beach day with the mercury climbing towards 30 degrees as Twilight Payment crossed the finish line to win the 2020 Melbourne Cup. The Cup was celebrated in a very different way this year for our Melbournian friends as dressing up, drinking champagne and having a flutter was all done from the comfort of home. We all wait with baited breath for Sunday’s announcement that Melbourne will become ‘one’ with Regional Victoria as the ‘Ring of Steel’ is removed and our city dwelling friends have the freedom to experience our great coastline again. We can’t wait to see you all!

As I have mentioned over the past couple of weeks we still continue to work with low levels of available listings across the township and indeed the Surf Coast. My count today on relaestate.com.au shows 11 available houses for sale at a time when historically we would have around 30 properties for potential buyers to view. Buyer demand continues to increase as people are constantly ringing to ask ‘do we have anything new or off market that they can view’. I can only assume that this buyer activity will increase as Melbourne comes out of lock down and pent up buyer demand is released into the market place. It will be a great time to be selling a home on the coast.

Have a great weekend.

For and Behalf of the Anglesea Team.
